I love taking photos and most of the time you can see my own photos on the right side rotator of my blog. Every time you refresh my site, a new photo comes up.

MY CAMERA

Thank you so much for encouragement and praises of my photos, it really means a lot, but most of the credit goes to my camera. I have gotten a lot of questions about my camera, and I wanted to share my honest opinion of my Canon Rebel XTi.

I am not very experienced photographer, I just love taking pictures and hope to improve my skills over the years. Most of the thanks for my photos go to my camera, Canon Rebel.

The camera I have is the Canon Digital Rebel XTi 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens. It’s around 500-700 dollars, depending when and where you buy it. I got mine from Amazon, and their price always seems to be the lowest.

Things I love about the Canon Rebel XTi:
- The pictures it takes- it almost makes me look like a pro. I’ve been very impressed with the picture quality.
- Easy to use even when you are manual challenged like me.
- It has inbuilt flash, but I usually like taking pictures without it.
- Auto-focus – you just push a button and it auto-focuses to what ever object you want to.
- It has the sports mode for fast moving objects (like kids).
- I have heard many professionals use the same camera base – just with better lenses. So even when you get better and want to upgrade your camera, you can keep your Canon Rebel and just get a better lens for it.

Not so great things:
- It is pretty heavy to carry around, and I sometimes wish I also had a little point and shoot for travels.
- It’s easy to use when you know how (you need to push the button first to let it auto-focus and then take a picture), but often when I let other people to take pictures with my camera the pictures are not that great (because they don’t do the auto-focus thing, they just push the button).
- Price might be too high for some people, but I think it’s worth every penny.
